Moeller, Hill Will Be Co-Coordinators For Mizzou

Dec. 13, 1999

COLUMBIA, MO. ___ -- Andy Moeller and Andy Hill will share the offensive coordinator duties at the University of Missouri, Head Football Coach Larry Smith announced today.

As co-offensive coordinators, Moeller and Hill fill the vacancy created by the resignation earlier this month of former coordinator Jerry Berndt. Smith said he will name two new assistant coaches to fill existing vacancies at a later date.

"Andy Moeller will coordinate the running game and Andy Hill will coordinate the passing game," Smith said. "They will work together in terms of providing leadership for the overall offense."

Moeller is an original member of Smith's staff, having joined the Tigers in 1994 to coach tight ends and offensive tackles. In 1997, he took over as MU's offensive line coach and during the last three seasons, he's coached four first-team All-Big 12 performers, including center Rob Riti, who this season was named to the prestigious Walter Camp Foundation and Burger King Coaches' All-America teams.

Hill has coached Mizzou's wide receivers for the past four seasons, a group that has become the deepest on the squad. Hill, himself a star receiver for the Tigers from 1980-84, previously spent two years as head coach at Hutchinson (Kan.) Junior College - compiling a 18-6 record - after two years as offensive coordinator there.

Moeller and Hill have also been Missouri's primary instate recruiters, with Moeller handling the St. Louis area and Hill coordinating efforts in Kansas City.
