Missouri Baseball Announces Fall World Series Dates

Oct. 6, 1999

COLUMBIA, MO., Oct. 5 __ - University of Missouri head baseball coach Tim Jamieson has announced the dates for the 1999 Fall World Series to be played on Simmons Field. This year's series will be a five-game set as opposed to a seven-game series that the team has played the past several years.

The series will take place at Taylor Stadium/Simmons Field despite the construction around the field. There are no seats, but fans and media are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and sit in the picnic area down the third base line and catch a glimpse of the 2000 Missouri baseball team.

The team will split up via a draft held by assistant coaches Chal Fanning and Evan Pratte. Each game will be played as a regulation collegiate game unless coach Tim Jamieson decides to cut the games short. If a team sweeps or wins the series in three or four games, the remaining game or games may or may not be played depending on the health and availability of the pitching staff.
