Columbia, Mo. - University of Missouri senior wrestler Jeff Urban has been ranked among the NCAA?s top-20 wrestlers at 149 lbs entering the 1999-2000 season. Intermat Magazine lists the Tiger wrestler as the No. 12 grappler in his weight class in its preseason poll released yesterday.

Urban spent most of last season ranked in the top-20 according to Intermat Magazine, peaking at No. 15 after defeating then No. 6 Cole Sanderson of Iowa State. Over two-month span last season, Urban won eight consecutive dual matches.

Last season, Urban led MU with a 20-14 record as he qualified for the NCAA Championships at State College, Pennsylvania. He also led the team with five pins.

The 1999-2000 wrestling squad opens its season November 12 versus No. 3 Illinois in a border war at Hazelwood Centeral High School in suburban St. Louis begining at 7pm. The Tigers then hosts No. 6 Oklahoma St. at the Hearnes Center at 7pm on November 18.
