Columbia, Mo. - The Missouri women's soccer team made it three wins in a row Tuesday with a 4-3 victory over Club Belgium in Holland. Junior forward Kristin Boeker knocked in two goals for the Tigers. Junior forward Nikki Thole and senior defender Liz Passanise netted the other two MU scores.
"This was our best game of the trip," said Head Coach Bryan Blitz. "They were the best team in Belgium with three or four national players on the team. It really was a great game for our team."
Missouri flexed its offensive muscle in all three international matches, scoring 11 goals overall. All-Big 12 performer, Nikki Thole led the way with four goals and Kristin Boeker added three. The Tiger defense was equally as impressive holding the European teams to a total of three goals, all which were scored in the final match. All-Big 12 Tournament goalkeeper Jackie Adamec anchored the Missouri defense in the net.
"This was a great experience for our team. The way the team came together over the last week and the chemistry that developed between everyone exceeded my expectations for this trip," Blitz said.
Missouri begins practice for its regular season schedule next week, as they welcome seven newcomers to the squad. The Tigers open their season with an exhibition match with Illinois State on Saturday, August 21 at 11 a.m.
