Tigers To Take On the Cornhuskers

For the first time in Missouri history, soccer is playing in the conference championship match. For the first time in Big 12 history the number fifth seed has made it to the finals. For the first time in Missouri history they beat Baylor.The Tigers are hoping that tomorrow history will be made again.

In a series that has only had one victor, Missouri knows what the challenge ahead is. However, Nebraska realizes their challenge as well. In the last conference tournament Missouri lost to Nebraska in the semifinals by a 1-2 margin. Earlier this season Nebraska beat Missouri . Scoring two goals in their regular season meeting Nebraska's Lindsay Eddleman will not play Sunday's match after being ejected in Friday's overtime match versu Texas A&M.

Unfortunately for the Cornhuskers Missouri is hot right now. Both Amy Timmerma and Stephanie Brennan have soced a goal in three consecutive games. Also for the time this season junior Erin Grimsley scored the game winning goal. The defense has been the best offense, and anchoring that has been junior goalkeeper Jackie Adamec. In the past four games she has had thirty two saves.

The championships game will be played Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at Blossom Soccer Complex. Then Missouri will await to hear whether or not they will be playing in the NCAA Tournament.,
