COLUMBIA, Mo.- The Missouri Tigers improved to 11-13 and 4-10 in the Big 12 Conference with a 73-62 win over the Oklahoma State Cowgirls and the Hearnes Center on Sunday afternoon. It was the final home game of the season for Mizzou and the final Hearnes Center appearance for senior center Kesha Bonds.
Bonds' 18 points and 14 rebounds led the Tigers while Amy Monsees contributed 19 points. Julie Helm came off of the bench for the first time this season and netted 17 points for the Tigers.
Missouri led throughout most of the first half. Two Toya Releford free throws at the 5:44 mark gave Oklahoma State their lead since 1-0. Missouri quickly answered with an 11-0 run over the next five minutes. Monsees scored five of her 11 first half points during the run that gave the Tigers their biggest lead of the half, 33-23. Mizzou went up 35-27 heading into halftime.
Missouri never let the Cowgirls (12-13, 4-11) get close in the second half. The Tigers went up by as many as 16 points in the second half. Mizzou shot a warm 57 percent in the second half and shot 54 percent from floor for the game. The Tigers also dominated ther boards, outrebounding the Cowgirls 37-20. Jennifer Crow paced OSU with 19 points while Megan Gregg added 15.
