Tigers Add Two Blue-Chip Recruits

COLUMBIA, Mo- The University of Missouri women's swimming and diving team added two blue-chip recruits to their roster for the 1999-2000 season today. Head Coach Brian Hoffer announced the signings of Kendra Jacobs and Leslie Hoh on Monday morning. Jacobs is a breaststroke/sprint free specialist from Conyers, Ga. Hoh is a breaststroke/individual medley swimmer from Charlotte, N.C. Both swimmers enter Missouri with career best 100 breaststroke times that are under the current MU school record.

Jacobs was a 1997 Junior National finalist and reached the 1998 consolation finals in the 100 breaststroke. Currently a swimmer for Heritage High School and the Swim Atlanta Club, Jacobs chose Missouri over Colorado State and Ohio University. She is planning on majoring in pre-medicine.

Hoh is regarded as one of the top breaststroke recruits in the country with a 100 breast time of 1 minute, 4 seconds. Her career best in both the 200 and 400 individual medley is also under the MU school record. Hoh has qualified for the U.S. Olympic Trials in the individual medley. Currently a swimmer for Providence High School and Mecklenburg Aquatic Club, Hoh chose Mizzou over Princeton, North Carolina and North Carolina State. She plans on majoring in pre-veterinary medicine.
