Columbia, Mo. -- - University of Missouri junior forward JEFF HAFER suffered a leg injury in practice today, and is questionable for Wednesday's game at Kansas State.
Hafer injured his right leg early in practice, and is now questionable for Wednesday, when the Tigers (10-2 overall, 1-0 in Big 12 Conference play) head to Manhattan, Kan., to take on the Kansas State Wildcats (11-3, 0-1).
Hafer injured his leg during a rebounding drill in the first 30 minutes of practice. He landed on a teammate's foot, and turned his ankle. It was feared that he might have broken a bone in his leg, but subsequent X-rays proved negative. The diagnosis is a strained right peroneal muscle, which is a muscle on the outside of the lower leg.
Hafer will undergo extensive treatment to recover from the injury, and his future availability will be a day-to-day situation.
