COLUBMIA, Mo. - All streaks must come to an end. The 20th ranked Arkansas Lady Razorbacks (7-5) haulted a four-game losing streak on Saturday night while snapping Missouri's four-game winning streak. The Hogs outscored the Tigers 42-28 in the second half and forced 33 turnovers in an 80-60 win over the Tigers at Bud Walton Arena.
Despite outrebounding Arkansas (41-38) and holding the Razorbacks to just 38.7 percent shooting, it was turnovers and missed shots that cost the Tigers. Missouri entered the game with a 49.9 shooting percentage (sixth in the country), but the Tigers missed several wide open shots and layups that allowed Arkansas to run away with the win. The Tigers trailed just 38-32 at halftime, and actually led most of the first half. Missouri built a 23-16 lead with 7:47 to go in the first half. Arkansas closed out the first half with a 12-4 run to take the lead into halftime.
After building a 61-48 lead with 9:43 to go in the game, Arkansas put the game out of reach with an 8-0 run and held the Tigers scoreless for almost four minutes. Freshman Amy Wright paced a balanced scoring attack for Arkansas with 12 points and 9 assists.
The Tigers were led by Julie Helm who recorded a double-double 27 points and a season-high 11 rebounds. Helm also moved into fourth place on the all-time MU scoring list, passing Lisa Sandbothe. Helm now has 1,240 career points.
