University of Missouri Head Coach Kerrick Jackson finalized his 2025 coaching staff in early September, announcing the addition of Hampton Hudson as the Tigers’ new graduate assistant.
Hudson will step into the role of graduate assistant after gaining experience as a sports performance coach over the last two years. He has trained youth, collegiate and professional athletes, in addition to working with The Dunham School in Baton Rouge, La., as a strength and conditioning coach for baseball, basketball and football. Additionally, Hudson has assisted the Traction Canes travel ball organization, coaching both youth and high school national teams.
A native of Baton Rouge, Hudson completed a four-year collegiate playing career at hometown Southern University (2016-20), including two seasons under the tutelage of Jackson as his head coach. His best year as a Jaguar came in 2019, when he batted .295 with 31 RBIs and 17 steals to help Southern to a 32-win season, a SWAC championship and an NCAA Regional appearance.
Hudson earned his bachelor’s degree in therapeutic recreation from Southern in 2020.
