2010-11: Cyr, wrestling at 157 pounds, won seven matches during his first campaign as a Tiger. Of those seven wins, five came via fall. He opened the season with a fall victory in 5:45 over Chip Condon of LWC. He won twice at the Kaufman/Brand Open, winning his first match by a 17-0 technical fall in 5:11 and pinning another opponent in 1:16. Cyr recorded two more falls at the Roger Denker Open, the first in 4:06 and the second in 0:57, his fastest of the season.
High School: Cyr finished off his high school career by qualifying for state in each of his last two seasons for the Waynesville Tigers. He went 38-8 his senior year, while his team recorded 12th place finishes during his junior and senior campaigns. He was a four-time All-Conference Academic Athlete, and also played football for Waynesville.
Personal: Joshua is the son of Brian and Insuk Cyr and was born in Fort Hood, Texas on Oct. 30, 1990. His father Brian is a captain in the Army. He has two siblings, Jake, 18, and Sam, 16. Jake is also a redshirt freshman on the Missouri wrestling squad. Joshua is majoring in biology.
