Silvia Chinellato was named Interim Head Coach on July 21, 2025.

She joined the Mizzou tennis staff on Sept. 6, 2024, as tennis assistant coach and was promoted to associate head coach on April 24, 2025.

Coming to Columbia, Chinellato made an immediate impact in her first season by helping the team to two ranked Southeastern Conference wins. The Tigers defeated No. 55 Mississippi State (March 2) and No. 22 Florida (March 21).

Chinellato joined the staff after spending the 2023-24 season as the head coach at Mount St. Mary's for the men's and women's tennis programs.

The Mountaineer men's tennis team ended last season with an 8-14 record, while the women closed out the year 3-11 under Chinellato. Beginning her career at Mount St. Mary's as an assistant coach, Chinellato led the women's team to the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) playoff spot during her first season at the Mount. Chinellato also coached the MAAC's Player and Rookie of the Year, Victoria Papadopoulou, during the 2022-2023 season.

Chinellato spent her five-year college career at the University of South Carolina, where she collected a 70-40 record in doubles with a 72-50 mark for her singles career. During her junior year, Chinellato earned an SEC Player of the Week acknowledgment following a 4-0 week against Clemson and No. 20 Texas Tech.

The Gamecocks alumna built a 24-16 singles record (11-7 in the SEC) at the No. 4 slot, where she spent most of her career. Chinellato was mainly paired at the No. 2 in doubles and helped achieve a 20-11 record at that position, with half of those being SEC wins.

Hailing from Italy, Chillellato graduated Magna Cum Laude with a degree in Tourism and Management, penciling her place on the EC Academic Honor Roll and Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Scholar-Athlete roster. Outside of her education, Chinellato served as a member of SAAC and was named to the SEC Community Team in 2020.
