Callie McKinney is in her first season as an assistant coach with Mizzou soccer after joining the program in 2026.
McKinney came to Missouri after spending the 2025 season as an assistant coach at SMU, helping guide the Mustangs through their second season in the ACC. SMU finished the campaign with an 8-8-2 overall record, including a 6-3-1 mark at home, while recording six shutouts and 13 different goal scorers.
The Mustangs also navigated one of the nation’s toughest schedules, facing five ranked opponents, including four top-10 teams and eight NCAA Tournament qualifiers during the regular season.
Prior to SMU, McKinney spent five seasons at Bellarmine from 2020-24, including serving as the program’s head coach during the 2024 season.
In her first season leading the Knights, McKinney guided Bellarmine to its first ASUN Tournament berth in three years and advanced the program to the conference quarterfinals following a first-round penalty shootout victory over Austin Peay. Bellarmine also set Division I-era program records for total wins and ASUN victories while earning its first ASUN postseason superlative honor and a program-record three All-ASUN selections.
Before being promoted to head coach in March 2024, McKinney joined Bellarmine’s staff as a graduate assistant in 2020 and was elevated to full-time assistant coach prior to the 2021 season.
During her tenure with the Knights, McKinney helped develop multiple all-conference performers. In 2023, Emma Nicholson earned Second Team All-ASUN honors while Sydni Whitehead was named to the ASUN All-Freshman Team. In 2022, Bellarmine ranked second in the ASUN in goals-against average at 0.88 and tied for third in the league with eight shutouts. Goalkeeper Elyssa Francis earned All-ASUN recognition, while Alexa Orozco was named to the ASUN All-Freshman Team.
In 2021, McKinney helped Bellarmine reach the ASUN Tournament semifinals for the first time in program history during the Knights’ first full season competing at the Division I level. During the spring 2021 campaign, Bellarmine captured its first Division I victory with a 1-0 win over Liberty, an NCAA Tournament team, while Francis and Natalie Teo earned All-ASUN honors.
In addition to her collegiate coaching experience, McKinney served as the head coach of Racing Louisville’s USL W League team during the summer of 2023.
A native of Franklin, Tenn., McKinney played collegiately at Louisville from 2016-19. She appeared in 72 matches with 67 starts during her four-year career and helped the Cardinals earn NCAA Tournament berths in each of her final two seasons. As a senior in 2019, McKinney helped Louisville post a 13-5-2 record and scored the game-winning goal in a 1-0 victory over Clemson.
McKinney was a two-time ACC Academic Honor Roll selection and also competed for the Nashville Rhythm of the Women’s Premier Soccer League in 2019, earning Southeast All-Conference Team honors.
She earned her bachelor’s degree in exercise science from Louisville and her master’s degree in health science from Bellarmine.
