Leann McConnell

Leann McConnell joined the University of Missouri Sports Medicine Staff in the Spring of 2021 as an athletic trainer working with the football team.

Prior to coming to Mizzou, McConnell spent a year at Kansas as an assistant athletic trainer with the Jayhawks football squad.

She spent two seasons working in similar capacities at Tennessee-Chatanooga before going to Lawrence, working with the Mocs football and women's golf programs.

A native of Maryville, Tennessee, McConnell received her bachelor’s degree in exercise science from Lipscomb University in 2014 and a master’s degree in athletic training from Texas A&M University in the spring of 2017. After finishing her master’s at Texas A&M, McConnell went on to be an intern at Kansas with football for a year before being hired to Chatanooga's full-time staff.

McConnell is a member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association and Mid-America Athletic Trainers' Association. She holds certifications in Blood Flow Restriction rehabilitation and Fascial Abrasion Technique (FATâ„¢ Tool).
