Martin R. Solomon joined University of Missouri Mizzou Made Academics in September 2017 to serve an Athletics Academic Coordinator for football and Men’s Golf. After two years in that role Solomon was promoted to Director of Football Academics.
Over the last several years Solomon and the football staff have helped to set academic records for Team GPA as well as SEC Academics Honor roll honorees.
Prior to joining the Mizzou Made Academics staff, Solomon worked at the University of Maryland within the Academic Support and Career Development Unit. While at Maryland, Solomon worked as an academic counselor for football working with Defensive backs, Linebackers, and Quarterbacks. Solomon also worked as a member of the Brand U student-athlete development staff. Those duties included overseeing the unit’s career development pillar. Prior to Maryland, Solomon served as Athletic Academic Coordinator at the University Of North Dakota. Solomon is a 2017 graduate of the National Association of Academic Advisors for Athletics Professional Development Institute.
Solomon got his start as a graduate assistant within the total person program. During the assistantship, Solomon worked as a GA for the enhanced learning program, and academic coordinator for several sports. In December 2015, Solomon completed his Master's degree in educational, school and counseling psychology with an emphasis in positive coaching from Missouri.
Solomon, a Chester, PA., native, was a member of the University of Louisiana-Monroe track & field team. Solomon is living happily in Columbia with his wife to be Elvony and beautiful daughter, Ellie.
