Outdoor Track – Shined in his debut outdoor season, winning the SEC Title in the long jump and being named SEC Freshman Field Athlete of the Year … Made his Tiger debut in the 100m dash at the Bobcat Invitational (March 31), running a wind-aided time of 10.56 (W: 2.3) … Made his jumping debut in the long jump at the Texas Relays (April 1), posting a 10^th-place finish with a mark of 7.44m (24-5, W: 1.5) … Won the long jump at the Tom Botts Invitational (April 14) with a wind-aided mark of 7.88m (25-10, W: 3.2) … Finished second in the triple jump at the John McDonnell Invitational (April 22), recording the eighth-best mark in program history at 15.44m (50-8, W: 1.1) … Captured an SEC Title (May 12) in the long jump with the second-best jump in program history at 8.13m (26-8.25, W: 0.0) … Made his second consecutive junior national team by finishing first in the long jump with a mark of 7.81m (25-7.5) at the USA Track & Field Championships (June 23) … Captured a Pan American Junior Title in the long jump with a mark of 7.77m (25-5.75) at the Pan American Junior Championships (July 21).

Following a highly successful career at Cahokia High School, Ja’Mari went on the finish first in the long jump at the USATF Junior National Outdoor T&F Championships with a jump of 25-8.75 … Went on to finish sixth at the 2016 IAAF World U20 Championship in the long jump with a jump of 26-1.5 … Finished sixth in the triple jump (49-2.25) at the USATF Junior National Outdoor T&F Championships … Four-time Illinois State Champion as a member of the Cahokia High School Track & Field team, taking home titles in the long jump in 2013 and 2015, as well as triple jump titles in 2014 and 2015 … Two section titles and numerous event titles in the long jump and triple jump over four-year high school career.
