Kegan McDaniel joined the University of Missouri football staff as an offensive analyst in early 2020. He was named to 247Sports 30 Under 30 in 2021. He has worked with 18 former, current and future head coaches.
Prior to his arrival in Columbia, McDaniel spent the 2019 season on head coach Eliah Drinkwitz’s staff at Appalachian State, also as an offensive analyst. He was a graduate assistant at Louisiana Tech from 2016-18, working with the offensive skill positions and special teams. In 2016, Louisiana Tech had the second-ranked scoring offense in the country.
He had a brief stint at Georgia in 2016 as a recruiting and operations assistant. In 2105, he was an assistant in recruiting operations, offense and special teams at Auburn. His football coaching career started as a student assistant during his time as an undergrad at Arkansas State (2012-15), working with the offensive skill positions and special teams.
During his overall tenure, McDaniel has been a part of three Sun Belt Conference Championship teams (two at Arkansas State, one at Appalachian State) and 10 bowl victories.
McDaniel earned a bachelor’s degree in physical education and health from Arkansas State, and a master’s degree in counseling and guidance, human services at Louisiana Tech. He and his wife, Erika, reside in Columbia.
