Mariah Cook joined the University of Missouri Athletic Performance Staff in August of 2023. She works directly with Cross Country, Distance, and Middle Distance track groups while assisting with Volleyball, Women’s Basketball, Gymnastics, and Softball. She also helps facilitate data-informed development and load management through the implementation of Olympic Sports performance technology, including Kinexon and force plates.
Cook came to Mizzou after serving as an Assistant Athletic Performance Coach at Illinois State University, where she also served as a graduate assistant and earned a master's degree in Exercise Physiology. During her time at ISU, she directed the training for Women’s Soccer, Women's Tennis, Women’s Swimming & Diving, and the Track & Field Jumps, Throws, and Multis groups. Additionally, Cook assisted with the training of the Men’s and Women’s Basketball teams and Volleyball.
Prior to ISU, Cook completed an internship at North Dakota State University where she worked with the Women's Basketball, Baseball, Volleyball, and Track & Field programs.
Cook earned her bachelor’s degree in athletic training at Saginaw Valley State University, where she was a four-year women’s basketball team member.
The Michigan native is a Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC), Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), is a Precision Nutrition Level I Coach (PN-1), Motor Preferences Trained Level 1 (Motor Preference™ Experts), a Certified Corrective Exercise Specialist (CES) through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM), and is CPR/AED/First Aid certified.
