Hagerty joined the Tigers' staff in 2021 and is in his third season at Mizzou. He serves as the program's hitting coach, as well as leading instruction for the Tiger catchers. He originally joined the Mizzou Baseball staff in Jan. 2019 as a student manager.Â
In Hagerty's two seasons with the Tigers, the lineup has combined for 909 hits, 155 doubles, 11 triples, 98 home runs and 564 RBI. He has also had a hand in shaping SS Josh Day and 1B Torin Montgomery into MLB Draft talent.
Hagerty enjoyed an eight-year run (2009-16) in professional baseball with the San Diego Padres organization. He spent a part of four seasons in Triple-A, including full 2015 and 2016 campaigns with the El Paso Chihuahuas. Hagerty was originally drafted in the 5th round of the 2009 MLB Draft by the Padres.
Prior to his professional career, Hagerty starred for three years (2007-09) at the University of Miami (Fla.). Following a solid 2008 sophomore campaign for the Hurricanes, Hagerty broke through in 2009 with a .315 average, 15 doubles, three triples, 14 home runs and 60 RBI.Â
Hagerty’s connection with Coach Bieser dates back to high school, as he starred for Vianney High School in St. Louis, Missouri. Under Bieser, the Griffins claimed 2004 and 2006 Missouri State Championships. Hagerty served as one of the team’s top players, earning three First-Team All-State honors and garnering 2006 Missouri Gatorade Player of the Year accolades.
Hagerty was born on Sept. 13, 1987, in St. Louis, Missouri.
