Williams played for the Tigers from 2013-15 - setting a single-season record for saves in 2015 - before being drafted in the fourth round of the 2015 MLB Draft by the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Following his collegiate career, Williams spent five seasons in the minor leagues from 2015-21, playing for the AA Amarillo Sod Poodles with the Diamondbacks organization. He worked for Driveline Baseball as an online pitching trainer prior to joining the Mizzou staff.
