Welcome Director of Athletics Laird Veatch
Laird Veatch was named the University of Missouri's Director of Athletics, effective May 1, 2024. Veatch has served in the same role at the University of Memphis since October 2019. Veatch, a former football student-athlete at Kansas State University, is a 25-year veteran of intercollegiate athletics with experience in the Big 12 and Southeastern Conference. He returns to Mizzou at an exciting time in its history. The Tigers have had an impressive run of success in the last few years, both academically and athletically. In 2023, Mizzou football finished the season ranked No. 8 in both major polls while gymnastics and wrestling spent most of their seasons ranked among the Top 10 nationally.
This is where we want to be. We have been ready for our forever home. We want to be in a place where we can invest in lifelong friendships. This was always it — we just didn't know.
