Postgame Notes

  • Mizzou played in its 49th NCAA Tournament game, dropping to 22-27 over the course of its 27 appearances in The Big Dance with the setback to Florida State. The Tigers fell to 1-3 as a No. 8 seed.
  • Head coach Cuonzo Martin led Mizzou back to The Big Dance, marking the third time he has shepherded a program to the NCAA Tournament. Martin is now 3-3 all-time in the NCAA Tournament. Programs led by Martin have been in the postseason eight times in the past nine seasons.
  • For the 21st time this season, the Tigers outrebounded their opponent. Mizzou narrowly out rebounded Florida State, pulling down 36 rebounds to the Seminoles’ 35.
  • With their 306 three-pointers on the season, Mizzou vaulted into rarified air, joining the 2002-03 squad as the only Mizzou teams ever to make 300-or-more three-pointers in a single season. The 2002-03 squad made 326 triples.
  • For the 24th time this season, Mizzou held its opponent under its season scoring average. Florida State has averaged 81.8 points-per-game this season, and the Tigers held them to just 67 points.
  • With his six three-pointers, graduate senior Kassius Robertson became just the fourth Tiger ever to make 100 three-pointers in a single season for the Black & Gold. Robertson finished his Mizzou career with 105 three-pointers.
  • Robertson’s 105 three-pointers made this season vaulted the guard into sole possession of third on Mizzou’s all-time single-season three-pointers made list, and second all-time among seniors. He passed Clarence Gilbert’s total from the 2000-01 season, in which he made 102 triples.
  • Robertson also matched his career-high in three-pointers made, splashing home six in the game. Robertson has hit five-or-more three pointers seven times this season.
  • For the 15th time this season, freshman forward Jontay Porter swatted multiple shots away in the same game. He had two rejections against the Seminoles.
  • Freshman forward Michael Porter, Jr. double-doubled for the first time in his career, scoring 16 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. It was also Porter Jr.’s second-straight game in the double-digit scoring column, as he scored 12 points against Georgia (March 8).
  • Porter, Jr. also registered career-highs in steals (3), minutes-played (28), rebounds (8) and free throws made (7).
  • Senior Brett Rau matched his career-high in points, scoring three points.
  • Rau also set a new career-high in minutes, playing 12 gritty minutes in his NCAA Tournament debut.
