Mizzou 69, Kentucky 60

  • Mizzou secured its first win against Kentucky in program history, ending a ten-game slide against the Wildcats.
  • This is the first time since the 2012-13 season that Mizzou has accumulated multiple wins against AP Top 25 opponents. The Tigers also defeated then-No. 21 Tennessee, 59-55, on Jan. 17.
  • Mizzou’s overpowering defense proved effective in limiting Kentucky’s opportunities as the Wildcats shot a season-low 20 percent (6-of-30) from the floor and 0 percent (0-of-10) from behind the arc in the first half.
  • Following the strong defensive start to the first half, the Tigers guided the Wildcats to their lowest scoring half since 2008 when they scored 16 points against West Virginia (Nov. 29, 2008). The 18-point first-half total is the lowest scoring half for Kentucky in the John Calipari era.
  • For Mizzou, the first half marked the first time all season that the Tigers held an opponent to zero three-point field goals with at least six attempts, the fewest points allowed in a half all season (18), and the seventh time with a double-digit lead at the half this season (+10).
  • The Tigers’ balanced offensive attack marks the first time since Jan. 6 against Florida that all Tigers who played scored.
  • Defensively, Mizzou held Kentucky to its fewest points per possession all season at 0.845, as well as their lowest field goal percentage at 31.3.
  • Mizzou’s senior leadership led the way once again, as graduate senior guard Kassius Robertson and senior forward Jordan Barnett each chipped in 16 points to lead the Tigers. It is the 12th time this season Robertson has led the team in scoring, and the sixth time for Barnett.
  • Robertson drained two three-pointers, giving him 67 on the season, which ranks ninth among Tiger seniors all-time. It is the 18th time this season and the 81st time in his career he has sank multiple three-pointers.
  • The Tiger senior was also a perfect 8-of-8 from the free throw line, the third time this season he has recorded a perfect night at the charity stripe when attempting at least five free throws.
  • Robertson also led the team in assists with four.
  • Barnett’s 16 points is the 15th time this season and the 33rd time in his career he has scored in double-figures, as well as the 13th time this season he has scored at least 15 points.
  • Barnett snagged six rebounds, the 14th time this season he has grabbed at least five boards.
  • Freshman forward Jontay Porter notched the tenth game of the season in double-digit scoring with 13, and added a team-high eight rebounds. Porter has snagged at least five rebounds in the 19-of-23 games this season.
  • Porter also had three blocks, the 12th time this season he has recorded multiple blocks.
  • Mizzou moved to 5-0 on the year when both Barnett and Porter score in double-figures.
  • Freshman forward Jeremiah Tilmon continued his offensive hot streak, as the East St. Louis, Ill., native has shot 10-of-10 from the floor over the last two games. Tilmon scored nine points and grabbed five rebounds in the game, the 11th time this season he has grabbed at least five rebounds.
  • Tilmon turned away two Kentucky shots, the eighth time this season he has recorded multiple blocks.
