University of Missouri Athletics
- Mizzou’s defense was dominant against UT Arlington, holding the Mavericks to just 45 points. The last time the Tigers held an opponent under 50 came in 2016, when they held Alabama A&M to just 44 points (11/13/16).
- Part of the reason for the defensive dominance was the Tigers’ quick hands, as the team combined to force a staggering 21 turnovers. That is the most Mizzou has forced since they forced 21 against Arkansas-Pine Bluff in 2015 (12/29/15). It is the most turnovers forced in the Cuonzo Martin era.
- Mizzou also won by a 20-point margin, its largest since December of 2017 when the Tigers beat North Florida 85-51 (12/16/17).
- Mizzou’s freshmen carried the team offensively, scoring 29 combined points. That is the most since Michael Porter, Jr. and sophomore forward Jontay Porter combined for 32 points in Mizzou’s 62-60 loss to Georgia in the SEC Tournament (3/8/18).
- Freshman guard Torrence Watson set several new career-highs against the Mavericks, including points (12) and three-point FGM (3-6).
- Sophomore forward Jeremiah Tilmon recorded his second double-double of the season and the fourth of his career, chipping in 10 points and adding a career-high 12 rebounds.
- Freshman guard Javon Pickett scored 10 points, following up his career-high 13-point performance against UCF. He is the only Mizzou freshman on the roster with back-to-back double-digit scoring efforts.
