University of Missouri Athletics
- With her 12 points against Missouri State, senior guard Sophie Cunningham moved into sole possession of seventh place on Mizzou’s all-time scoring. Cunningham now has 1,606 points in her illustrious career, and needs just 18 more points to tie Lorraine Ferret for sixth place all-time.
- Redshirt freshman Haley Troup scored her first collegiate points, nailing a three-pointer at the top of the key with just under nine minutes to go in the second quarter.
- Freshman guard Akira Levy scored 11 points, setting a new career high. She scored four points in Mizzou’s win over Western Illinois.
- Levy also chipped in with five rebounds, a new career-high for the freshman on the glass. She also set a new career mark in steals, swiping three of them against the Lady Bears.
- Freshman forward Grace Berg (Indianola, Iowa) scored 12 points, setting a new career-high. Berg tallied six points against Western Illinois.
- Half of Berg’s points came at the foul line, where she was a perfect 6-6. The last time a Tiger was perfect from the line while attempting at least six freebies came when Cierra Porter also went 6-6 against Kentucky last season (2/8/18).
- Levy’s 11 points and Berg’s 12 points are the time a freshman has scored in double digits in a home opener by a freshman since senior guard Sophie Cunningham did so against Arkansas- Pine Bluff on Nov. 16, 2015.
- Berg and Levy each reached double-digits, making them the first true freshman duo to score in double-figures in the same game since junior guard Amber Smith and junior Jordan Chavis did so against Vanderbilt on Jan. 15, 2017.
- Smith recorded a career-high four blocks in the game. After recording just eight blocks as a freshman in 2016-17 and 25 as a sophomore in 2017-18, Smith has already blocked seven shots through two games of her junior campaign.
- Mizzou's defense dominated Missouri State only allowing the Bears to shoot 36.5 percent from the court. Last week, Mizzou held Western Illinois to 28.8 percent. The last time the Tigers held two consecutive teams to under 37 percent shooting came when the Tigers held Arkansas (2/12/18) to 33.9 percent (19-for-56) and Auburn (2/15/18) to 28.0 percent (21-for-75).
