Postgame Notes
Mizzou 95, Long Beach State 58

  • Mizzou defeated Long Beach State, 95-58, to improve to 3-0 all-time against the 49ers.
  • Mizzou had great contributions from its bench in the game, as five Tigers combined to score 48 points off the bench in the game.
  • The Tigers shot well in all three facets of the game, making 32-of-62 (51.6 percent) from the field, 10-of-24 (41.7 percent) from the three-point line and 21-of-24 (84.0 percent) from the free throw line. It was the best free throw shooting night of the season so far for the Black & Gold.
  • In the win, Mizzou had five Tigers score in double figures for the second time this season after doing so against Wagner (Nov. 13). Scoring in double figures were junior guard Jordan Geist (16), freshman forward Jontay Porter (15), senior guard Kassius Roberston (13), freshman guard Blake Harris (11) and junior guard Cullen VanLeer (11).
  • Porter played another solid 23 minutes off the bench for Mizzou, setting season-highs with points (15), field goals made (6), three-pointers made (2) and blocks (4). It was Porter’s third game scoring in double-figures, and fourth with at least five rebounds.

  • Harris played his best game to-date as a Tiger in his first career start, setting season-highs in points (11), field goals made (4), assists (9) and steals (2).
  • Harris’ nine steals are the most by a Tiger since then-sophomore guard Terrence Phillips dished out 10 dimes against Ole Miss last season (Jan. 21).
  • In addition to posting a season-high 16 points, Geist matched his career-high with seven rebounds, matching his performance against Tulane last season (Nov. 20, 2016).
  • Geist’s 16-point output is his first game in double figures this season and the 10th of his career.
  • Robertson’s 13 points were the fourth time this season and 70th time in his career he has scored in double figures, and his two three-pointers is the 66th time in his career he has made multiple threes.
  • VanLeer reached 10 points for the first time this season and the 11th time in his career with 11 points. His three three-pointers is the 21st time in his career he has connected on multiple treys.
  • VanLeer was also active on the glass for Mizzou, grabbing a career high seven rebounds.
