  • With the 81-55 win, Mizzou improves to 1-0 all-time against Miami (Ohio).
  • Mizzou ignited in the second half, scoring 55 points, its most points in a single half since dropping 61 points in the second half of a 91-54 win over Alcorn State on Nov. 13, 2012.
  • For the second game in a row, Mizzou set a season-high in rebounds, grabbing 50 boards, the first time Mizzou has snagged 50 or more rebounds since Dec. 29, 2015, when the Tigers grabbed 56 in a win over Arkansas-Pine Bluff.
  • The Tigers set a season-high in three-pointers made with nine, its third game this season Mizzou has connected on eight or more shots from beyond the arc. In 31 games last season, Mizzou connected on eight or more shots from the three-point line just four times.
  • Mizzou went 22-of-31 from the free throw line, a season-high makes from the charity stripe for the Tigers and the most since connecting on 27-of-38 against South Carolina on Feb. 16, 2016.
  • Sophomore forward Kevin Puryear led the team in scoring with 19 points while grabbing eight rebounds. In 39 career games, Puryear has scored at least 10 points and grabbed at least five rebounds in 20 contests.
  • Senior forward Russell Woods recorded his first career double-double, setting career-highs in scoring with 15 points and rebounds with 10. Woods surpassed his previous scoring high of 12, set in the season-opening win over Alabama A&M (Nov. 13) and has now recorded 10 rebounds in four career games, the most recent occurrence happening in a win over Tulane on Nov. 20.
  • Woods connected on 7-of-8 from the free throw line, setting career-highs in free throws made and free throws attempted.
  • Sophomore guard Cullen VanLeer scored a career-high 14 points in the game, surpassing his previous high of 13 set against Xavier on Nov. 17, 2015.
  • VanLeer drained four three-pointers in the game, matching a career-high for shots made beyond the three-point arc. VanLeer connected on four-three pointers against N.C. State on Dec. 19, 2015.
  • Freshman guard Frankie Hughes recorded the 100th point of his collegiate career off of a free throw in the first half.
  • Hughes became the second fastest freshman in Mizzou history to score 100 points, reaching the plateau in eight games. Steve Stipanovich remains the record holder, as he reached 100 points in his first six games in 1979-80.
  • Mizzou has now had a freshman score 100 points through the first eight games of a season in three consecutive seasons, with Montaque Gill-Caesar reaching the mark in 2014-15 and Kevin Puryear doing so last season.
  • Hughes joins four other Tigers who have scored 100 points in their first eight games: Jevon Crudup (1990-91), Kelly Thames (93-94), Montaque Gill-Caesar (2014-15) and Kevin Puryear (2015-16).
  • Hughes 13-point output is his sixth double-digit scoring effort in the eighth game of his career. Hughes hit three shots from beyond the three-point line, continuing his stretch of making multiple three-pointers in each of Mizzou’s five victories this season.
  • Sophomore guard Terrence Phillips (Orange County, Calif.) had five steals in the game, matching a career-high from when he had five takeaways against Ole Miss on Feb. 3, 2016.
  • Phillips had six assists in the game, his sixth game this season he has recorded five or more assists in a game. In 31 games last season, Phillips reached five assists just eight times.
  • Phillips grabbed eight rebounds for the second consecutive game, a season-high mark for the sophomore.
  • Sophomore guard Jordan Geist dished out five assists, a season-high for the first year Tiger.
