TEAM NOTES
- Mizzou outscored Arkansas 21-0 in the second half en route to its come-from-behind, 28-24 victory over Arkansas. The 17-point deficit overcome by the Tigers stands as the second-largest overall comeback in school history, and the largest halftime comeback in school history.
- Two Mizzou defenders recorded 10 or more tackles for the fi rst time since the South Carolina game (Nov. 5), with freshmen SS Ronnell Perkins (St. Louis, Mo.) and LB Cale Garrett (Kearney, Mo.) both recording 10 stops.
- Mizzou’s captains for its game vs. Arkansas were the entire 2016 senior class in recognition of it being Mizzou’s Senior Day.
OFFENSE NOTES
- Junior WR J’Mon Moore became Mizzou’s fi rst 1,000-yard receiver since the 2014 season (Bud Sasser, 1,003 yards on 77 receptions). Entering the game, Moore needed 123 reception yards to hit the 1,000-yard mark and finished the game with 135 yards (6 receptions) and season with 1,012 yards on 62 receptions.
- Redshirt freshman WR Johnathan Johnson (Memphis, Tenn.) recorded an 82-yard rush in fi rst quarter action, the longest run of his career. The play marked the third play of more than 80 yards this season for Mizzou’s offense, a total that ranks tied for third in the country.
- Johnson scored on a 67-yard reception from sophomore QB Drew Lock, doubling his career total to two touchdowns this season.
- Sophomore RB Nate Strong (East St. Louis, Ill.) recorded his first career touchdown, a 2-yard rush, at 11:53 in the third quarter. Strong added the second touchdown of his career to put Mizzou ahead 28-24 at 12:48 in the fourth quarter on a 1-yard rush.
- Strong recorded 17 rush attempts for a new season high to reach his season-best 52 rushing yards, with his previous highs coming at Tennessee (8 carries, 39 yards).
DEFENSE NOTES
- Junior DE Marcell Frazier (Portland, Ore.) recorded 4.0 tackles-for-loss, a career-best total, moving his season total to 8.5. As a sophomore, Frazier posted 6.0 tackles-for-loss. Frazier had 3.0 sacks of the 4.0 tackles-for-loss, besting his 2015 season total of 2.0. Frazier finishes the season with 7.5 sacks.
- Frazier’s 4.0 tackles-for-loss are the most for a Mizzou defender since teammate Charles Harris recorded 4.0 vs. Georgia (Sept. 17).
- Freshman LB Cale Garrett (Kearney, Mo.) set a new career high in tackles-for-loss in a game at 2.0. He had previously recorded 1.0 tackle-for-loss four times this season. Garrett recorded his first career interception early in third quarter action with a 4-yard return from the goal line.
- Garrett also posted 10 tackles for a new season-high.
- Freshman SS Ronnell Perkins (St. Louis, Mo.) recorded 10 tackles for a career-best total.
- Senior CB Aarion Penton (St. Louis, Mo.) grabbed the 10th interception of his career and fifth this season late in the fourth quarter. His five picks are a season-high, with his three as a sophomore in 2014 as his second-best season total.
- Senior LB Donavin Newsom (St. Louis, Mo.) recorded his third sack of the season for loss of nine yards, his 5.5 tackle-for-loss this season.
- Senior CB John Gibson (Missouri City, Texas) set a career high in tackles with six stops.
SPECIAL TEAMS NOTES
- Sophomore P Corey Fatony (Franklin, Tenn.) landed one of his five punts inside-the-20 for his 25th boot of that kind this season, a career-high total (23 as a freshman in 2014).
- Senior RB Alex Ross (Jenks, Okla.) recorded the second 100-yard return game of his season and the second total for Mizzou for the 2016 campaign with 110 yards on five returns.
