Mizzou / Middle Tennessee Post-Game Notes

TEAM NOTES

  • Mizzou gained a season-high 348 rushing yards against Middle Tennessee, surpassing the previous best of 268 that came vs. Delaware State (Sept. 24). The 348 yards were the most gained by the Tigers since the 2013 season, when Mizzou rushed for 358 against Murray State (Aug. 31, 2013).
  • The Tigers set a new school record for first downs, earning 36 against Middle Tennessee. Mizzou’s previous season-high of 34 vs. Delaware State (Sept. 24) narrowly missed matching the previous program record of 35, attained twice vs. New Mexico (2005) and California (1985).

INDIVIDUAL OFFENSE

  • Freshman RB Damarea Crockett (Little Rock, Ark.) rushed for four touchdowns in the game, becoming the first true freshman in program history to rush for four scores and just the fifth Tiger ever to do so, regardless of class. Other Tigers to accomplish the feat are Earl Grant (1978), Joe Freeman (1992), Brad Smith (5 - 2003) and Tony Temple (2007). Three true freshman Tigers, Johnny Roland (1962), Gary Lane (1963), Corby Jones (1995) and Henry Josey (2010) rushed for three touchdowns.
  • Crockett rushed for a career-high 156 yards for his third 100-yard rushing game of the season and his career. He gained 115 yards vs. Delaware State (Sept. 24) and 135 yards at Florida (Oct. 15). Crockett’s previous best was his 145 yards, which he gained against Florida (Oct. 15).
  • Sophomore QB Drew Lock (Lee’s Summit, Mo.) rushed for a gain of 24 yards in the first quarter, his longest rush of the season.
  • Lock ended the game with a career-high 63 rushing yards, surpassing his previous high total of 39 set against Vanderbilt on Oct. 24, 2015.
  • Junior RB Ish Witter (Tampa, Fla.) rushed for a career-high 121 yards on 19 carries. His previous high was 98 yards against South Carolina (Oct. 3, 2015).
  • Mizzou had two rushers - Crockett and Witter - with more than 100 rushing yards for the first time since the 2013 season against Murray State (Aug. 31, 2013) when Henry Josey and Russell Hansbrough both eclipsed the century mark with 115 and 108, respectively.
