Art Bond

Art Bond was a football and track letterman at Missouri in 1922-23-24, out of Perryville, Mo. The father of Missouri Governor and US Senator Christopher S. "Kit" Bond, Art was a star halfback on Tiger football teams that compiled a 14-8-3 record during his career. He was the captain of the 1924 team that won the Missouri Valley Conference championship with a 7-1 record, and went on to MU's first post-season game, in Los Angeles, against Southern California. A member of Phi Beta Kappa and a Rhodes Scholar, Bond scored three touchdowns in a 27-0 win over rival Washington University as a sophomore in 1922. (DECEASED).
