
Women's Basketball Primed for Road Contest at Vanderbilt

Mizzou women's basketball travels to face No. 7 Vanderbilt at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday at Memorial Gymnasium in Nashville, Tennessee.
The contest marks Mizzou's (13-4, 0-2 SEC) third straight opponent ranked in the top 15 as the Tigers join Duke as the only teams in the country to play three consecutive top 15 opponents this season.
Mizzou enters the contest following a loss to No. 5 Kentucky on Sunday.
Junior forward Grace Slaughter led the Tigers with 15 points against the Wildcats. Slaughter has scored in double figures in 17 consecutive games and ranks seventh in the SEC with 18.7 points per game this season.
Employing a balanced offensive approach for much of the year, Mizzou has had four or more players score in double figures 10 times this season.
Utilizing the long ball, Missouri is ranked 11th in the country and second in the SEC in 3-point percentage at 38.0 percent.
Individually, sophomore guard Chloe Sotell is 22nd in the country and fourth in the SEC in 3-point percentage at 44.3 percent.
To supplement the efficiency, the Tigers are 29th nationally and fourth in the SEC with 8.7 makes from beyond the arc per game.
Mizzou also ranks fourth in the country and first in the SEC in free-throw percentage at 81.1 percent.
Missouri has been battling injuries for most of the year and is currently missing four players totaling 71 games of SEC experience and 213 games of collegiate experience.
Vanderbilt enters Thursday at 15-0, including a 2-0 mark in SEC play, following a victory over No. 5 LSU on Thursday.
Last season, the Commodores advanced to the first round of the NCAA Tournament where they fell to Oregon.
Head coach Shea Ralph is in her fifth season on the sidelines in Nashville with an 88-59 record.
Vanderbilt's roster is headlined by sophomore guard Mikayla Blakes who averages 25.2 points per game.
Blakes was named a second-team All-American and SEC Freshman of the Year last season.
