
Women's Basketball Primed for Road Contest at Mississippi State

Mizzou women's basketball will travel to face Mississippi State at 2 p.m. on Sunday in Humphrey Coliseum. The contest will be broadcast on SEC Network+ and the Tiger Radio Network.
Missouri enters the conference showdown following a victory over Texas A&M on Sunday.
Junior guard Grace Slaughter led Mizzou with 24 points against Texas A&M. The performance marked her third straight game with 20 or more points and her 11th outing of 20 or more this season.
Slaughter is 22nd in the country and fifth in the SEC with 19.3 points this season. The junior is 10th in the country and second in the SEC with 35.94 minutes per game this year.
Redshirt senior guard Jayla Smith scored 15, the most in an SEC game this season and her second-highest total of the year.
On the season, Mizzou is ranked 10th in the country and second in the SEC in 3-point percentage at 37.4 percent. The Tigers are 26th nationally and fourth in the SEC with 8.7 makes from beyond the arc per game.
Individually, sophomore guard Chloe Sotell (39.8%) and junior guard Abbey Schreacke (38.7%) are sixth and eighth, respectively, in the conference in 3-point percentage.
The Tigers rank fifth in the country and first in the SEC in free-throw percentage at 79.6 percent.
To supplement the high conversion rate at the charity stripe, Mizzou draws a foul on 19.6% percent of its two-point shots this season, which ranks 22nd in the country.
Dowell (98) and Slaughter (92) are second and third, respectively, in the conference in free throws made.
Opposite the offensive end, Missouri is 20th in the country and sixth in the league in defensive rebounding with 29.2 per game.
Mississippi State enters Sunday at 16-6, including a 3-5 mark in SEC play, following a victory over Tennessee on Thursday.
Head coach Sam Purcell is in his fourth season on the sidelines with an 83-41 record.
Mississippi State's roster is headlined by junior forward Favour Nwaedozi, who averages 13.1 points per game.
