
Women's Basketball set for Road Contest at No. 11 Kentucky Sunday

Mizzou women's basketball travels to face No. 11 Kentucky at 11 a.m. on Sunday at Historic Memorial Coliseum in Lexington, Kentucky.
Mizzou (12-4, 0-1 SEC) enters the contest following a loss to No. 2 Texas on Thursday.
In her first season at the helm, head coach Kellie Harper is off to the best start by a coach in their debut season in program history.
Junior guard Grace Slaughter led Mizzou with 20 points against Texas. Slaughter has scored 20+ seven times this season.
Spearheading the offense, the junior currently ranks 34th in the country and sixth in the SEC with 18.9 points per game this season.
Stepping up with the injury to junior guard Shannon Dowell, sophomore guard Chloe Sotell has scored in double figures in four straight games, including an 11-point performance against Texas.
Missouri shot a season-best 53.5 percent from the floor against the Longhorns.
In addition, the Tigers shot 63.2 percent from behind the arc on Thursday, the highest percentage since facing Florida on Feb. 21, 2021.
On the season, Mizzou is ranked third in the country and first in the SEC in 3-point percentage at 39.5 percent.
The Tigers are 27th nationally and fourth in the SEC with 8.9 makes from beyond the arc per game.
Mizzou also ranks fifth in the country and third in the SEC in free-throw percentage at 80.8%.
Utilizing a balanced attack, four or more Tigers have scored in double figures 10 times this season.
Despite missing the last three games, Dowell ranks 19th in the country and second in the SEC with 67 made free throws this season.
In total from its roster, Mizzou has missed 139 games of SEC experience and 213 games of collegiate experience due to injury this season.
Kentucky enters Sunday at 14-1, including a 1-0 mark in SEC play, following a buzzer-beating victory over No. 5 LSU on Thursday.
Last season, Kentucky advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament before being ousted by Kansas State.
Head coach Kenny Brooks is in his second season on the sidelines at Kentucky with a 37-9 record. Overall, Brooks is 554-213 in his 24-year career.
The Wildcats are led by junior center Clar Strack, who averages 16.7 points per game.
Overall, Kentucky has five players who average double-digit point totals.
