Hearnes Center Fieldhouse welcomes 10 Missouri teams to the second of five home meets.
Mizzou track and field continues the 2026 season campaign with the Show-Me Showdown on Friday, Jan. 16, beginning at 9:15 a.m. at Hearnes Center Fieldhouse.
INSIDE THE FIELDHOUSE
Missouri welcomes ten other teams from the state for its second competition of the five-meet homestand: Maryville, Saint Louis, Missouri Valley, Southwest Baptist, Missouri S&T, Lincoln (Mo.), Kansas City, Park, Missouri State and Lindenwood.
Before the start of last year's indoor season, the facility's 200-meter track was refurbished with an eight-lane sprint straightaway, along with runways for pole vault and horizontal jumps. Since its opening in 1972, the venue has hosted multiple indoor track and field competitions, including the 1991 Big Eight Indoor Track & Field Championship.
TIGERS ON THE TRACK
Nineteen Tigers are set to take on the Show-Me Showdown, with sophomore transfer Makenna Estes making her Missouri debut in the pole vault. She will be joined by Anna Ferguson, Allison Geen and Anna Vedral, who claimed the title at the Alexis Jarrett Invitational for the second-consecutive year, clearing 3.90m (12-9.5).
Petra Gombas, Ames Burton, Delilah Pippen, Reagan Kimrey and Kaitlyn Morningstar are all slated to take on the weight throw after making their season debut last week. Gombas led the way with a throw of 19.91m (62-11.5) to win the season opener for the second-straight year.
Freshman Sofia Wydra makes her return to the fieldhouse in the 60m hurdles and high jump, where she placed ninth and sixth, respectively, in her first meet on Saturday, Jan. 10. Wydra will be joined by graduate Brianna Utecht, who makes her first appearance as a Tiger in the same two events. Sophomore Marlena Tresnjo joins Wydra and Utecht in the high jump after taking the victory at the Alexis Jarrett Invitational with a result of 1.76m (5-9.25).
On the men's side, senior Robert Hines is slated to compete in the 200m after securing first with a time of 21.82. Graduate Dillon Leacock is set for the 600m and 60m hurdles after a second-place finish of 8.29 in the latter during last week's contest.
After a strong showing at the Alexis Jarrett Invitational, three Tigers contend in the men's weight throw. Redshirt junior Clayton Kamp and junior TJ Wiggins take the stage after claiming third and fourth place results of 17.92m (58-9.5) and 16.83m (55-2.75). 2025 All-American Sam Innes makes his season debut after setting the school record weight throw of 22.98m (75-4.75) during last season's Bob Teel Invitational.
Three Tigers look to top the charts in the men's shot put after the Alexis Jarrett Invitational. Junior Chase Crawford won the event with a personal-best throw of 17.62m (57-9.75). Junior Sam Albert established a personal best of 15.83m (51-11.25) to place third, with Kamp following in fifth (14.86m/48-9).
