Women's Golf set for NCAA Regional Championships

Stanford, Calif. – Mizzou women's golf will compete in the NCAA Regional Championships at Stanford Golf Course from Monday to Wednesday.

Stanford, Calif. – Mizzou women's golf will compete in the NCAA Regional Championships at Stanford Golf Course from Monday to Wednesday.

TOURNAMENT INFO

Monday morning marks the beginning of the 54-hole stroke play contest, spanning three days, with each day consisting of 18-hole golf.

The top five schools from stroke play, along with the low individual not on an advancing team move on to compete in the NCAA Women's Championship, taking place from May 22-27 at Omni La Costa Resort in Carlsbad, Calif.

COURSE OVERVIEW

For the second time in the last five years, the regional will be held at Stanford Golf Course, a highly ranked par-70 course measuring 6,727 yards in length.

SCOUTING THE COMPETITION

The regional boasts a very competitive field, with nine schools being ranked in the top 50, and five being conference champions. The host, Stanford, has won two NCAA titles in the last four years, and is ranked No. 1 in the nation.

Joining Mizzou in the regional, along with the Cardinal in seed order, will be Pepperdine, Vanderbilt, Arizona State, Arizona, Cal State Fullerton, Illinois, Oregon State, Cal Poly, South Dakota State and Navy.

HISTORY

The Tigers, who have tremendously improved their ranking by 89 spots over the last four seasons under head coach Caroline Westrup Gaeta are competing in their first Regional since 2017-18 at a rank of No. 31 in the nation.

The tournament will mark the 13th all-time appearance for Mizzou. The Tigers qualified after posting their lowest team score in the SEC Championship since joining the conference (844).
