
Softball Drops Series Finale at No. 15/20 Alabama Sunday

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – University of Missouri softball concluded its final regular-season SEC road series with a 2-0 loss to No. 15/20 Alabama Sunday at Rhoads Stadium.
With the loss, MU moves to 23-29 in 2025 and 4-17 in SEC play. Alabama took all three games of the series to improve to 35-18 this season and 11-10 in league games.
Freshman Madison Uptegrove paced Missouri offensively Sunday, going 2-for-3 for her fifth career multi-hit game (fourth two-hit game).
Scoreless through four innings, the Crimson Tide took a 1-0 lead on an RBI single from Lauren Johnson in the fifth.
Alabama added an insurance run on a solo home run from Brooke Ellestad the following frame.
Madison Walker extended her hitting streak to six games.
Taylor Ebbs pushed her reached base streak to nine games (hits in all three games at Alabama) with a single in the fourth.
Claire Cahalan, a Dadeville, Alabama, native, added a hit in the third inning Sunday.
Marissa McCann allowed just two earned runs on seven hits with a trio of strikeouts over five innings in the loss (9-11 in 2025).
Senior Jayci Kruse pitched the final inning Sunday, a clean no hit frame.
UP NEXT
- The Tigers next return home to face No. 24/24 Georgia, Thursday through Saturday over Senior Weekend at Mizzou Softball Stadium. First pitch is set for 6 p.m., CT on Thursday, 5 p.m., CT on Friday and 1 p.m., CT on Saturday.
- All three games will be broadcasted on SEC Network+.
- Thursday's promotions feature inflatable carnival games and a face painter on the Berm. Fans in attendance will receive Squish Mellows, while supplies last.
- MU will recognize its five seniors following the game Friday. Fans in attendance will receive replica Mizzou jerseys, while supplies last.
- Saturday's finale is a Summer Bash. There will be inflatables along with postgame autographs and kids can run the bases courtesy of Missouri Farm Bureau Insurance.
