After earning her first collegiate top-20 finish, Alexandra Berglund of University of Missouri women's golf was named SEC Freshman of the Week on Wednesday.
Berglund keyed the Tigers to a fifth-place finish of 13 schools at the Florida State Match Up last weekend. The rookie placed in the top 20 for the first time in her young career by finishing 15th overall in the 73-golfer field with a score of 223 (75-76-72).
Overall, Berglund's score of 223 and her 72 in the final round of action are both her second-best tallies of the 2024-25 campaign. She carded nine birdies in total during the 54-hole tournament with her performance on the final day vaulting her up nine spots in the standings and into the top-20.
Berglund is just the third Tiger in the last 10 seasons to collect SEC Freshman of the Week accolades, joining Emma Allen in 2016 and Fleur van Beek last season as golfers to accomplish the feat.
Berglund and Mizzou return to action on Sunday, April 6, competing against Georgia Southern.
