
Mizzou to Host National Girls and Women in Sports Day Panel on Sunday

COLUMBIA, Mo. – In recognition of National Girls and Women in Sports Day, the University of Missouri Department of Athletics will host a student-athlete panel and clinic from noon-1:30 p.m. on Feb. 2 at Hearnes Center. Participants can register for the event at MUTigers.com/NGWSD.
The panel and clinic, which are free and open to the public, take place before the Mizzou women's basketball game against Tennessee at 2 p.m.
The panel features Tigers' student-athletes Jessica Larson (soccer), Addie Lawerence (gymnastics), Taylor Williams (swim and dive), Andrea Artimedi (tennis) and Maya Sands (volleyball).
Fifty-five female athletes will participate in a clinic providing skill instruction and play analysis to each participant.
At the conclusion, participants are encouraged to attend the women's basketball game, which features a face painter, balloon artist, postgame autographs and NGWSD pins.
The first 200 attendees will receive an NGWSD T-shirt.
Panel Overview:
Jessica Larson - Larson has appeared in 50 games for the Tigers with two career goals and three career assists. The junior played a full 90 minutes in eight contests a season ago.
Addie Lawerence – A WCGA Scholastic All-American and a two-time SEC Academic Honor Roll member, Lawerence has posted career high of 9.975 on the beam and has recorded over a 9.9 on three occasions in her career.
Andrea Artimedi - Artimedi has totaled 30 wins in her collegiate career, including a ranked doubles win over Alabama in the 2023-24 SEC Tournament.
Taylor Williams - Williams qualified for the 2024 NCAA Championship in the 100 fly and 200 fly. A two-time honor roll honoree, the junior currently serves as co-president of the Mizzou Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.
Maya Sands - In two seasons as a Tiger, Maya Sands has earned SEC Libero of the Year in back-to-back seasons. She most recently was awarded AVCA All-America Honorable Mention laurels in 2024 as Mizzou finished ranked No. 19 after an NCAA Sweet 16 run. Sands has totaled 1,077 digs and 217 assists as Missouri's starting libero.
