COLUMBIA, Mo. – University of Missouri football head coach Eliah Drinkwitz met with members of the media on Tuesday afternoon for a post-spring practice press conference.

Additionally, graduate student safety Jalen Catalon, sophomore running back Ahmad Hardy, and redshirt sophomore linebacker Josiah Trotter also met with the media on Tuesday.

"Just to hit on it, you know, and be straight-forward, we have had a few portal entries, and I anticipate we'll have a few more," Drinkwitz said to begin his press conference. "I don't anticipate it'll be more than eight, but you never know. It's just part of what college football is right now. I think we were one over scholarship-wise. I think we were in 86, what potentially would have been 86 with all the freshmen coming in. So, after one, then we will be looking to replace portal for portal entry, just so everybody can be up to date on that. And once we have those finalized, we'll let you know."

Mizzou is coming off back-to-back 10-plus win seasons, posting a 21-5 record which is tied for third best in program history over a two-year stretch. The Tigers have also gone 13-1 at home, 10-1 in one-score games, 2-0 in bowl games with victories over Ohio State (2023 Cotton) and Iowa (2024 Music City) and 4-0 vs. Big Ten, Big 12 and ACC opponents during that time. MU is riding a 10-game winning streak on Faurot Field and carry a 12-game home sellout streak into its opener on Thursday, August 28."

"Again, the challenge for us is we want to do something that's never been done before at the University of Missouri, and that's win an SEC championship, participate in a playoff and or be the first time in school history to have three 10-win seasons in a row," Drinkwitz added. "And that's a challenge. It's going to be hard, but we embrace it, and we embrace the chase and embrace the opportunity to do something that's never been done before. Which goes along with doing core value number one, which is always compete to do it better than it's ever been done before. So, that's the message to our team. Complacency will kill us. Being comfortable will kill us. We are challenging ourselves as we're in this April speed power block with the athletic training and grow track with individual self-improvement through our player development program on Wednesdays, our leadership classes on Wednesdays, our fatherhood classes on Mondays, our walk-thrus on Fridays, all of this is an avenue for us to continue to improve to do something that's never been done before."

The Tigers host Central Arkansas (Aug. 28), Kansas (Sept. 6), Louisiana (Sept. 13), South Carolina (Sept. 20), Massachusetts (Sept. 27), Alabama (Oct. 11), Texas A&M (Nov. 8), and Mississippi State (Nov. 15) during their 2025 home season.
