
Soccer Opens 2024 Season Against Missouri State

COLUMBIA, Mo. – University of Missouri soccer begins its 29th season against Missouri State at 7 p.m. on Thursday at Audrey J. Walton Stadium. The contest will be streamed live on SECN+.
Head Coach Stefanie Golan enters her fifth season at the helm of the program. The Tigers finished their 2023 campaign with a 5-9-3 overall record.
2023 All-SEC First Team honoree Kylee Simmons headlines Missouri's roster entering the year. Simmons led the conference with 11 goals a season ago and ranked second in the SEC with 24 total points.
On Monday, the forward was tabbed No. 34 on Top Drawer Soccer's national player rankings.
In addition to the Tigers freshman class of Callaway Combs, Emily Derucki, Ava Vetter, Landis Canada, McKenna Moran and Mia Devrouax which will debut Thursday, Missouri added goalkeeper Kassidy Roshong from West Virginia this offseason.
Despite the addition, Bella Hollenbach is poised to be Mizzou's starting keeper after making 49 saves and recording one shutout a season ago.
In exhibition play earlier this month, Missouri earned a pair of 2-0 wins over Lindenwood and Wisconsin.
Missouri State concluded its 2023 campaign with a 12-2-5 overall record. The Lady Bears posted a 7-0-3 mark against Missouri Valley Conference opponents. The in-state foe was defeated by Valparaiso in the opening round of the MVC tournament.
Missouri State is coached by Kirk Nelson who holds a 24-9-7 entering his fourth season in Springfield.
The Lady Bears roster is headlined by two-time All-MVC First Team selection Carly Raunig who anchors the backline and contributed four goals and an assist last season.
