COLUMBIA, Mo. – University of Missouri track and field's Kelsey Schweizer broke the school record in the 800m with a time of 2:02.39 Thursday evening during day two of the NCAA Championships in Eugene, Oregon.
Schweizer's time places her above former Tiger Ashley Wong who ran a 2:02.94 in the event back on June 2, 2000. The senior ran a previous-best 800m time of 2:03.84 during NCAA Round One in May.
With the result, Schweizer earned Second Team All-American status, the first such accolade of her career.
Skylar Ciccolini claimed sixth in the javelin with a season best mark of 55.06m (180-8). The throw saw Ciccolini named a First Team All-American for the second consecutive season.
