
Tennis Closes Out Weekend In Waco

WACO, Texas – University of Missouri women's tennis team wrapped up the weekend competing in the H-E-B Invitational hosted by Baylor University.
The Tigers added another win to the weekend with a singles win from senior Mae Canete against Nebraska on Sunday. Mizzou captured six wins from the weekend – three singles and three doubles victories.
Canete picked up three singles wins throughout the tournament, with one coming from each day of competition. The sister's doubles duo of M. Cantete and junior Inah Canete secured the remaining three victories for the weekend in Waco.
COACH TURATI:
"It was a very positive weekend for us overall. The goal of this first tournament was to test our level, and play as many doubles and singles matches as possible. I am happy about how the girls played and competed. Now we need to get back to work and get ready for Regionals."

UP NEXT
Mizzou will continue the 2023 fall season with the ITA Regionals starting on Thursday, Oct. 12. Lawrence, Kan. Meanwhile, M. Canete will compete at the ITA All-American Championship, with her first match taking place tomorrow, Oct. 8, in Cary, N.C.
