No. 9 Missouri Hits The Road To Wrestle No. 20 Oklahoma

COLUMBIA, Mo. – The 11th-ranked University of Missouri wrestling team (6-2, 4-0 Big 12) will to face off against No. 20 Oklahoma at McCasland Field House in Norman, Oklahoma, on Thursday, Jan. 20, at 7 p.m. CT. The dual will steam on Bally Sports Oklahoma.

Thursday will be Mizzou's first meeting against the Sooners in five years. The Tigers last wrestled Dec. 21 against Lehigh in the finale of the Collegiate Wrestling Duals in Niceville, Florida.

The Matchup

The Sooners (5-2, 2-1 Big 12), come into the dual after going 3-0 at the Virginia Duals in addition to a seven-match dual that did not keep a team score.

Thursday's dual features six ranked bouts with the highest-ranked matchup coming at 197 pounds with freshman Rocky Elam going up against No. 12 Jake Woodley. Other ranked matchups will come at 125, 157, 165, 184 and 285 pounds, respectively.

For the Tigers, redshirt freshman Sean Harman will be making his 2021 dual debut at 174 pounds. Harman is 16-5 this season with all his matches coming in tournament action.

Freshman Trey Crawford will also return to the starting lineup at 133 pounds. Crawford last wrestled in a dual setting on Dec. 4 against Virginia Tech.

Missouri's lineup features six wrestlers with a freshman standing, including No. 3 Keegan O'Toole at 165 pounds. O'Toole comes into the week as the No. 2 ranked athlete in the Dan Hodge Trophy predictions for the best collegiate wrestler. He is 13-0 this season with 11 wins coming by bonus points.
