Ciccolini and Sinclair Set Program Top-10 Marks on Day One of Texas and Raleigh Relays

The Tigers also set three new personal records
COLUMBIA, Mo. — Mizzou Track & Field wrapped up the first day of action at both the Texas Relays and Raleigh Relays on Thursday evening, as two Tigers moved up into the program record book and three others set personal bests.
Notable Finishes
At the Texas Relays, freshman Skylar Ciccolini (Lewistown, Pa.) finished fourth overall and second among the collegiate competitors in section A of the women's javelin. In just her second meet ever at Mizzou, Ciccolini threw the javelin 53.39m (175-2), which currently ranks No. 2 in program history and No. 5 in the nation.
In section B of the women's javelin, Erin Zimmerman (Malvern, Pa.) continued her impressive start to the 2021 campaign by setting a PR for the second weekend in a row. Zimmerman's mark of 49.43m (162-20) was good for a second-place finish and ranks No. 5 in program history.
At the Raleigh Relays, freshman William Sinclair (Tauwhere, New Zealand) debuted in the men's 5000m and moved into the Mizzou record books on the night. His time of 14:06.75 ranks fourth all-time in program history.
The freshman duo of Davis Helmerich (Highland Ranch, Colo.) and Jack Warner (Kansas City, Mo.) both set PRs in the men's 1500m, finishing in times of 3:51.08 and 3:51.66, respectively. Both Helmerich and Davis ran nearly 10 seconds faster than their previous personal best.

Mizzou will continue competition in both the Texas Relays and Raleigh Relays tomorrow morning, beginning with the women's shot put at 9:30 a.m. CT.
