
Mizzou Track and Field Wraps Up NCAA Indoor Championships

Andre and Nachev earn first team All-America honors
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - Mizzou Track & Field wrapped up competition at the NCAA Indoor Championships on Saturday, as three Tigers competed in the men's and women's triple jump. Junior Georgi Nachev (Yambol, Bulgaria) and sophomore Euphenie Andre (Dover Plains, N.Y.) both earned First Team All-America honors for their performance, while junior Arianna Fisher (San Jose, Calif.) was named a Second Team All-American.
NOTABLE FINISHES
To start off the day, Nachev finished eighth in the men's triple jump with a leap of 16.20m (53-1.75). Nachev set a new personal best in the event, as he inches closer to the school record in the event. Nachev also earned first team All-America honors for his performance. He is the first Tigers to earn All-America honors in the men's triple jump since 1979 and joins Larry Gray and Ajayi Agebaku as the only men to do so in school history.
On the women's side, Andre also placed eighth in the triple jump with a mark of 13.31m (43-8). In her NCAA Championships debut, Andre earned first team All-America honors, becoming the third Tiger to do so on the weekend. For the second straight meet, Andre set a new personal record and she now sits in sole possession of No. 2 All-time in the women's indoor triple jump top-10 list.
Fisher also earned All-America honors for her performance in the triple jump, as she finished 15th with a mark of 12.95m (42-6).

Excited to take home a bunch of new All-Americans and a new school record in Ja'Mari. We got a lot done in this indoor season and I'm really proud of the kids that are here. Looking forward to the outdoor season."
UP NEXT
With the meet, Mizzou wrapped up the 2021 indoor season. Next, Mizzou is set to send two athletes to the NCAA Cross Country Championships on Monday, March 15 in Stillwater Okla. Following the championship race, the Tigers will kick off the outdoor season at home with the Mizzou Spring Opener on March 19 and 20.
