Largest-ever estate gift to athletics will be used to endow athletics scholarships
COLUMBIA, Mo. – The University of Missouri Department of Athletics received a pledge of a $10.5-million anonymous estate gift from a longtime supporter which will be used to endow athletics scholarships, Director of Athletics Desireé Reed-Francois announced.
It is the largest estate gift ever given to Mizzou Athletics and is the 14th estate gift over seven figures donated to the Tiger Scholarship Fund. The funds will be used as set forth in the donor's estate bequest to benefit student-athletes at Mizzou.
"We are incredibly grateful for the extreme generosity of this donor," Reed-Francois said. "This amazing gift will serve as a lasting testimony to this donor's lifelong passion for Mizzou and our student-athletes. By investing into scholarships, this gift will continue to live on through our incredible student-athletes and the great accomplishments they will achieve throughout their lives. Coming off last week's extremely exciting football signing day, you can tell that momentum for Mizzou Athletics is at an all-time high and this gift is yet another example."
The donor of this incredibly gracious gift hopes other Mizzou faithful will see this as a call to action to support Mizzou Athletics and our amazing 550 student-athletes both now and into the future.
