Badie, Banister Named CoSIDA Academic All-District

Seniors advance to Academic All-America ballot
COLUMBIA, Mo. – University of Missouri seniors Tyler Badie and Barrett Banister earned CoSIDA Academic All-District honors, announced by CoSIDA on Thursday.
Badie, a running back from New Orleans, La., earned his bachelor's degree in sport management, in spring 2021, with a GPA of 3.83. He's in his first semester as a graduate student, pursuing a master's in athletic administration and positive coaching. Also a 2020-21 CoSIDA Academic All-District section, he was a 2021 AFCA Good Works Team, Wuerffel Trophy and Campbell Trophy nominee.
A Doak Walker Award semifinalist, Badie ranks fourth nationally in rushing yards (1,239), yards per game (123.9), fifth in total touchdowns (16) and 11th in total points (96). Each of those marks lead the SEC. Badie is also second in the SEC and 15th nationally in scoring (9.8 ppg) and 18th nationally and second in the SEC in rushing touchdowns (12).
Banister, a receiver from Fayetteville, Ark., earned his bachelor's degree in sport management, in spring 2021, with a GPA of 3.55. He's in his first semester as a graduate student, pursuing a master's in athletic administration and positive coaching.
A Burlsworth Trophy nominee, Banister totals 21 receptions for 145 yards with one touchdown. Nine of his receptions have been for first downs, including seven that were part of scoring drives. At Boston College, he had five catches for 44 yards, including a nine-yard score. His 19-yard catch moved the chains for Mizzou's 56-yard made field goal to force overtime vs. the Eagles.
