Mizzou Volleyball Excels Academically Once Again, Posts 3.53 Fall Semester GPA

Tigers surpass 3.00 fall semester GPA for 10th consecutive year
COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou Volleyball continued its excellence in the classroom this past fall 2020 semester, finishing with an incredible team 3.53 grade point average. The Tigers have exceeded a cumulative 3.00 fall semester GPA in 10 straight years and have accomplished the feat 14 times in the past 17 years.
"I couldn't be prouder of this group of women," said Mizzou Volleyball head coach Joshua Taylor. "This fall semester was unlike any we ever had and it presented many challenges for students across Mizzou. That being said, the expectation never changed and they rose to the occasion. Along with our ladies' fine work, our academic counselor, Camille, was also outstanding. Many classes shifted in the middle of the semester and she accommodated all of our student-athletes and did everything to make sure everyone had all they needed to be successful. This outstanding team GPA not only shows the dedication our student-athletes have in the classroom, but also the grit they possess to thrive in difficult situations."
"This team is very special," exclaimed Mizzou Made learning specialist, enhanced learning program, Camille Duncan. "The student-athletes strive for excellence in the classroom and on the court. This accomplishment is very deserving and shows the adaptability, consistent effort and hard work that these student-athletes put in on a daily basis. To do this once is impressive but to be above a 3.00 for ten years straight emphasizes the culture that has been built and established at Mizzou by the coaches and staff.

Superior academic success is nothing new for the Tigers, as they concluded the 2019-20 school year with another American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award. Mizzou concluded last academic calendar with a program-record 3.74 spring semester GPA. It has surpassed a 3.50 collective GPA in six consecutive spring semesters at the University of Missouri. Historically, the Tigers have exceeded a 3.00 group GPA in 16 of their past 17 spring semesters.
This past July, two Tigers were named to the 2019-20 First-Year Southeastern Conference Academic Honor Roll. The duo joined the six individuals who were recognized in the 2019 Fall SEC Academic Honor Roll last February.
Historically, Mizzou has now surpassed a 3.00 team GPA in 28 of its past 32 combined fall and spring semesters at the University of Missouri.
