
Steelman Claims Top-10 Finish as Mizzou Men's Golf Opens Spring Season in Florida

Mizzou placed 11th at the Gators Invitational
Gainesville, Fla. — Mizzou Men's Golf completed its first tournament of the spring season on Sunday, finishing 11th at the Gators Invitational. The Tigers posted scores of 292, 293 and 282 to shoot a 27-over 867 for the weekend.
Redshirt freshman Ross Steelman (Columbia, Mo.) placed in the Top-10 for the second time this season, claiming a tie for 10th. He carded scores of 69, 73 and 69 to shoot a 1-over 211 for the tournament. The freshman's two rounds under par bring his season total to nine rounds.
Senior Rory Franssen (Inverness, Scotland) placed in the Top-25 for the fifth consecutive tournament, claiming a tie for 16th. He carded scores of 71, 71 and 70 to shoot a 2-over 212 for the tournament. It was the Scotland native's second lowest 54-hole score of the 2019-20 season.
Junior Jack Parker (Columbia, Mo.) finished the tournament strong, carding his lowest round of an even 70. He claimed a tie for 44th with a 9-over 219.
Sophomore Tommy Boone (Plano, Texas) rebounded from a 9-over 79 in the first round to card 73 in the following two rounds. He finished the weekend tied for 64th with a 225 (15 over).
Freshman Yu-Ta Tsai (Taipei, Taiwan) made his second collegiate start this weekend. He finished tied for 83rd with a 235 (25 over). On Sunday he shot a 5-over 75, the second lowest score of his career.
