CLEARWATER, Fla. – Mizzou Softball lost to No. 14/13 Minnesota, 10-1 on Sunday at the Eddie C. Moore Softball Complex. Mizzou (9-2) is off to the best 11-game start since 2016.

Turning Point

Minnesota put up five runs in the top of the fourth to jump to an early lead. Two-straight hits and a walk to lead off the inning loaded the bases, and the Gophers pounced on the opportunity with a RBI single and a two RBI double.

Megan Schumacher came in to try and get Mizzou out of the jam, limiting Minnesota to only two more runs.

Top Tigers

Jazmyn Rollin logged a double in the first inning, ending the day 1-for-2.
Kendyll Bailey scored Mizzou's lone run of the day.

"Today was a tough one, but our team is going to grow closer from moments like this," head coach Larissa Anderson said. "I thought it was important for our young pitchers to experience some high-pressure situations. I'm so proud of where this team is at right now, but we need to continue to attack every single pitch."

Notes

Mizzou is off to a 9-2 start for the first time since 2016.
The Tigers went 0-for-6 leading off the inning in the game.
Mizzou was 0-for-6 with runners in scoring position, and 0-for-5 with runners on.
Both of Mizzou's losses this season have come against teams in the top 20.
